Question: What sports are popular in your country?

There are many sports that are popular in my country, like cricket, hockey, football, abrade, badminton, wresting, etc. In fact cricket is followed like a religionin India.

Question: What are the major differences between ‘extreme sports’ and ordinary sports?

The major difference between extreme sports and ordinary sports is the risk of injury is higher in the former. Most of the ordinary sports can be played anywhere there is open space, however, the extreme sports require a specific kind of a location and proper set up, with all the safety and security measures followed. For example, cricket can be played in any open space, children in India also play it on the streets. However, bungee jumping cannot be performed anywhere and without a proper guide and an instructor.

I think that the expensive sports are as good as any other sports, however, everyone can’t afford playing them. These sports require special equipment and a special kind of an environment that makes them expensive. For example, golf. A golf set is very expensive and getting access or a membership to a golf range also costs a great deal. However, the health benefits of this sport can be compared to any other sport.

Question: Why do some people strongly dislike playing sports?

Some people strongly dislike sports because they do not understand the benefits of playing sports. Some people think of it as a waste of time, as they may value money over fitness and happiness. They think that such activities are a waste of time and do not have any value.

Question: Do you think people should be encouraged to try some of these extreme sports?

Yes, I think people should be encouraged to try some of the extreme sports, as there is a lot to learn from such sports. It helps boost the confidence, overcome challenges, promotes physical and mental fitness.

Question: Do you like to do a rather dangerous sporting activity?

Yes, I would like to try extreme sports. In fact, my cousin tried white water river rafting and bungee jumping earlier this year in Riskiest. He has told me that it’s exciting and exhilarating. I am now planning to try these sports next year.

I think people have different reasons to do these activities. Some do it to earn name and fame. Some want to overcome their fears, like the fear of heights or the fear of drowning and so on.
