Polluted City IELTS speaking part 2 cue card with answer

Well, ma’am, pollution is a big problem these days. There is hardly an absolutely pollution-free place. Here, I am going to talk about a city, Ludhiana, which is very polluted.

It suffers from all sorts of pollution – air pollution, water pollution, and noise pollution 🏭💨💦🔊. I visited there last week and I go there quite often as my relatives live there.

Ludhiana is the industrial hub of Punjab. Industries dump their effluents in the surrounding area, which causes significant water pollution.

Moreover, the population of Ludhiana is far more than its size can comfortably support, leading to the rise of slum areas on the outskirts 🏚️. The people in these slum areas, mainly labourers from other states, contribute to the littering of the place.

The city also struggles with air pollution caused by the many vehicles on its roads 🚗💨. Whenever I come back from Ludhiana, I heave a sigh of relief. Phagwara, in comparison, is relatively pollution-free.
